Zestplex Education Advisors

Home  /  About

An advisory built around honest conversation.

Zestplex was founded in 2014 by three former admissions officers who were tired of seeing Malaysian families pushed into degrees that didn't fit. We started with five families a year. Last cycle we placed 1,140 students at universities they actually wanted to attend.

Our story

From a shop-house above a Cyberjaya kopitiam to a national advisory.

The first Zestplex office had two whiteboards, four desks and a kettle. Eleven years on we operate out of Wisma Cybercentral on Persiaran Multimedia, but the working method has stayed the same: every family meets a senior advisor on day one, and that same advisor sees them through to first-week orientation.

We have visited every partner campus in person. Our destination leads — for Australia, the UK, New Zealand, Ireland and Malaysia — fly twice a year to sit with admissions tutors, walk the dorms and review what's changed in the visa rules. That's why our guidance ages well.

We will never be the biggest advisory in the country, and we have made peace with that. Our cap is around 1,400 students a year because beyond that we lose the unhurried, personal call that makes our work worth doing.

What guides us

Four principles, written above the kettle.

I

Honest options first

Every shortlist includes at least one option we don't earn commission on. If it's the right fit we'll recommend it without flinching.

II

One advisor, one family

The person who runs your discovery call is the person who chases your offer letter and the person who texts you when the visa clears.

III

Numbers on the table

Tuition, living, scholarships, currency drift, twinning savings — every conversation comes with a written cost comparison you can show your parents.

IV

No deadline drama

We operate a rolling deadline board. Every advisor sees every client's next two deadlines daily, which is why nothing slips.

Team and credentials

Twenty-three advisors. Each with a region they have lived in.

Our Australia lead studied at Adelaide and worked five years in Monash Malaysia admissions. Our UK lead read law at Bristol and ran UCAS coaching at an international school in Subang Jaya. Our New Zealand and Ireland leads relocated to those countries during their own studies — they have the kind of muscle memory you can't fake.

Every advisor holds a current ICEF Agent certification and we audit twenty random files per quarter against MQA and MoHE record-keeping standards. We publish our annual outcome report to partner universities; ask any advisor for a copy.

Regional meet-ups

Every three months we host meet-ups at libraries in Penang (George Town), Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching. They're free, light snacks provided, and you don't need an appointment.

The next four dates are published in your discovery-call follow-up email. Ask any advisor for the rotating venue list.

Let's start with a quiet conversation.

No sales pitch. No commitment. Just a senior advisor on the phone for half an hour, helping you map the next twelve months.
